Every fall I watch the same thing happen. The market slows down, and so do agents' feeds. Fewer posts. Fewer videos. The monthly newsletter quietly becomes a quarterly one, then a someday one.
I understand it. When the deals slow down, it feels like there's nothing to say.
But the people who will buy and sell with you next year are scrolling right now. And the agent they remember in March is the one who kept showing up in October.
A slow market is a content calendar
Your audience has more questions this fall than they've had in a long time. What does this market mean for me? Should I wait? Can I still afford anything?
That isn't a reason to go quiet. That's your next three months of content, handed to you.
And you have something now that you didn't have in May: time to actually make it.
What to post when you don't have listings
You don't need a new listing to have something worth saying.
Take one headline your clients are seeing and explain what it means for them in a minute or less. Bust a myth, like "you need 20% down," and bring your loan officer in to talk through the money side. Show off a neighborhood: the coffee shop, the park, the Saturday farmers market. Let people see what you're doing for clients right now, including the unglamorous parts.
And if you helped someone buy this year in a tough market, tell that story. A real buyer who made it work is the most encouraging thing a nervous follower can see.
Pick a rhythm you can keep
Consistency beats volume every time. Three great posts in October followed by silence until February does less for you than two solid posts a week straight through the holidays.
If you can only do one thing, send the monthly email. Your database already knows you. They just need a reason to remember you.
Build what lasts
A social post is gone in a day. Some content keeps working for months.
Use the slow season to refresh the page people land on when they look you up: a current bio, your best reviews, photos that look like you today. Write a few pieces that answer the questions you get every single week, because those are exactly what people are searching for. And batch enough content now that January doesn't start with a blank calendar.
That's the work that pays off when the phone starts ringing again.
How we built for this
We built Alyned so the visibility work and the business work live in the same place.
MyPage
A real page of your own that captures people, instead of a brokerage bio nobody reads. When someone finds you, they have somewhere to land.
AI Optimization
Tools that help your page and your content show up when people go looking for an agent, on search and in the AI tools more of them are starting to use.
My People
Everyone who finds you lands in your database, so the attention you build this fall turns into relationships you can follow up on.
The first 30 days are free.
Set up your page, bring in your people, and send one email to your database. It's a good first step for the slow season.
If you want a hand getting set up, reply to any email from us and you'll get a person.
The market will pick back up. Make sure you're the one they see when it does.
